Grizzly fur is often brown, tipped with blonde, causing the grizzled or silvertip appearance that prompts their name. Bears sense fear. If you are uncomfortable hiking in grizzly country, choose another area. But bear-savvy behavior on your part can help to alleviate that fear. n Take sensible safety measures when hiking or camping in grizzly country. Never hike alone.
